Recipe of the Month: Classic Homemade Hummus

Ingredients:
- 1 can chickpeas
- 3 tablespoons tahini
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1–2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2–4 tablespoons cold water
- salt to taste
Optional for garnish
- A drizzle of olive oil
- A sprinkle of paprika or sumac
- Fresh chopped parsley
Instructions:
In a food processor or blender, combine the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth, adding cold water one tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired creamy consistency.
Add more lemon juice, salt, or garlic to your taste. Spoon the hummus into a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and add optional garnishes like paprika or parsley.
